I am using IE7 and my connection speed is supposed to be 8MB but is usually about 6MB. I am running Windows XP Home Ver2002 with Service Pack 2. It is a CCL computer fitted with an Athlon 64 3000+ 2.00GHz chip and 1GB of DDR memory. After this, please open TomTom Home and try to install the map again. Right-click on the SD-card drive > Properties > Tools > Error checking > Check Now > Enable both options and press on start. Go to My Computer and open up the drive that TomTom is stored on, and open and browse the contents of the SD card. Please connect the GO to the PC, and then exit TomTom HOME completely. This could either be an SD card fault or a cab-file error during the orignal download. ARE YOU QUITE CERTAIN THAT CNAME.DAT FILE IS OK?Ī question I asked before but was not answered was could I install to a SD card without using Home and if so how? So far as the download is concerned, I have downloaded it at least 6 times with the same result. So far as the SD card is concerned, I have tried it on two different cards which behave in exactly the same way. I am sorry, it is neither of the things you suggest. I did what you suggested, but a copy failure at the same place and on the same file resulted. This seems to confirm that there is something strange about cname.dat. I then copied cline.dat (a much bigger file) without problem. The request could not be performed because of an I/O device error. I then tried to copy cname.dat to the sd card but I got an error message reading: Cannot copy cname. I opened the cabinet file and extracted the files cline.dat and cname.dat to the desktop. I reproduce below mu correspondence with Tomtom.įurther to my earlier message, I have been doing some experimentation. I have exactly the same problem, I thought I was on my own! I used to get a blowout on cline, but now it is cname.
But with their usual ''head in the sand'' conduct I find them reprehensible. If only Tom Tom would reply it would help.

I would add my original TOM TOM GO 300 software using my GB maps is working perfectly (I kept a back up on other cards) I suspect there is some error (s) in the TOM TOM HOME upgade sent out recently but I don't know for sure. I paid for and downloaded the latest GB IE + major roads in WE and the US update but got to about 50% installation progress then got the message - in both instances "an error occurred while writing to this file:- "G:UK and IE plus majors roads of WE (same on the US SE or GB IE plus major roads in WE) \cline.dat" To clear the card I removed all files to start with a clean slate as it were. I was ok with the CH AT DE + WE maps but my US and GB maps were said to be out of date. I had US SE Region maps plus CH AT DE + major roads in WE on my 2 GB card. Anyone had a problem recently (re) installing new maps via TTH?
